The Chinese Economic Development Council, Inc. is headquartered at 65 Harrison Avenue/31 Beach Street, a mixed use building in Boston’s Chinatown with 53,000 square feet of office space and 35 units of residential apartments. Originally a textile building, it has undergone extensive renovations in 1987 and also in the mid-1990’s to accommodate a business incubator, a cultural center, and classrooms in addition to the offices and apartments.

CEDC developed and built the 39 units residential building in 1983. All 39 units are Section 8 subsidized and 100% affordable. It houses many of the Chinatown’s elderly population and low income families.

10 Oxford Street (Oxford Ping On)

Ping On in Chinese means “safety”. CEDC developed and built the 67 units of 100% affordable housing over the span of almost a decade, which opened for residents in 2015. It houses a diverse population of low income and homeless transition residents in the heart of Chinatown.

Mei Wah Village - 10 Maple Street

Mei Wah Village

This 41 unit elderly housing project is jointly owned and managed with South Cove Nursing Home in Chinatown, which provides suitable housing units for senior citizens. It was built in 1996 and has housed senior citizens of mostly Chinese descent for over two decades.
